Driscoll Safety Ltd offers a variety of First Aid Training courses throughout Scotland/England/Wales
Our course syllabuses are all regulated and assessed in line with current UK and European Resuscitation and First Aid Guidelines. All instructors hold a minimum of Level 3 in Education and Training and assessor’s qualification issued by the following recognised awarding organisations Ofqual/SQA/Accreditation (.IQA – Internal quality assurance).
All instructors are assessed annually by an external assessor to maintain standards.
If you are not totally happy by the first break, walk away and we will reimburse your money.
You will be constantly assessed throughout the course, allowing for plenty of practical experience.
By doing so, we hope to provide you with the skills you need in case of an emergency.
We offer one to three day/s courses, approximately eight hours per day.

Every individual should know how to administer first aid.
When faced with an emergency situation, knowing what to do can mean the difference between life and death.
In order to provide consistency, quality, and peace of mind, all instructors are fully qualified and evaluated every year.

If you own a business and employee people, then under Health and Safety (first aid) regulations (law) you need to do the following.

Stage 1:
Complete an assessment of first aid needs, following these steps will ensure you have all your first aid
covered and is the basis of what you need where and in what quantity.
Consider inexperienced workers
Disabled workers
Medical conditions of workers
Shift work
Nature of work e.g., do you use chemicals?
Remote workers
Lone workers
Those that travel a lot
Work on sites occupied by others
Previous accidents
Premises spread out
Nearest Accident and Emergency facility
Planned and unplanned absences
Any visitors, contractors’ members of the public who site should have cover.
Stage 2:
Once you have gathered the relevant information then you can concentrate on.
Ensuring you have a first aider or appointed person to take charge.
Ensuring you have adequate facilities, including First aid box-suitably stocked, based on the
assessment.
Tell your staff what the arrangements are in place to manage first aid.
Stage 3:
Provide the necessary equipment, inspect it regularly and ensure there is a sufficient
quantity and availability.
Stage 4:
How many first aiders do you need?
Are they trained?
Are they confident?
Who is providing your first aid training, is it certified……Check!
Are there any particular hazards in the workplace the training organisation should know? This may
assist in the training.
Stage 5:
Now you have all the controls in place, ask your first aider/appointed person to continually
review these with staff.
If you have an accident or incident which requires first aid, review this assessment, amend
it as necessary, and inform and train out to complete the cycle.
Ensure the first aid boxes are then replenished.
Stage 6:
If you don’t have an accident, even better, but you still need to monitor and review all
provisions for first aid.
You may even consider a policy document which details all this information.
