– Paedriatic First Aid (PFA) 2 Day Course
(Including Paediatric Basic life support and AED)
£ 150 pp

National Qualification: Level 6 (Scotland SCQF) Level 3 (England, Wales and Northern Ireland RQF).

This course can also be delivered over a six-week period dependant on your needs. Price includes Registration, book, certification and credit card id. All COVID 19 restrictions are as per HSE /GOV guidelines. No need to stop this important training, we have it covered.

Anyone interested in knowing what to do in an emergency situation involving children.

As long as they are willing to be a paediatric first aider, no prior first aid knowledge is required.

A learning outcome of this qualification is to establish the learners’ ability to administer first aid in a variety of paediatric situations.

Demonstrations are conducted in conjunction with written testing. Both the written and the practical assessments must be successfully completed by the student to earn the qualification.

This two-day qualification fulfils the requirements for first aid training detailed in the Department for Education’s statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Paediatric First Aid Course Objectives

By completing the qualification, the learner will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and practical skills required to provide first aid to children.

Unit 1 : Emergency Paediatric First Aid : 6 hour duration
Unit 2 : Managing Paediatric Illness, Injuries and Emergencies : 6 hour duration

Who will Benefit from Paediatric First Aid Course?

 This course has been developed for those who are working with children and infants.
 It will be of particular interest to teachers, child minders, crèche assistants, playgroup personnel and anyone else who has a responsibility for their welfare whilst in your care.

Assessment Process

 The qualification is assessed both through practical demonstration and written assessment.
 A learner must successfully pass both the written and practical assessments to achieve the qualification.
 There is no grading of the assessment; learners pass or are referred.

Numbers

 The maximum of 12 students can be accommodated, however this is dependent on the site and
classroom.
 Minimum age for this course is 16 years old (please speak to us if learners are under this age)
 During COVID the maximum number of students is 8, again this is dependent on site and classroom.
 An assessment will be conducted prior to going firm on numbers

Certification

This two-day qualification fulfils the requirements for first aid training detailed in the Department for Education’s statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage. Whilst the qualification lasts for 3 years it is highly advisable to refresh your skills set on an annual basis. You can do this with other staff or book a 2/3-hour session. The learner will need to complete the full course again to requalify for a further three years.
